This project was almost purely a technical and manufacturing optimisation exercise. The company needed to increase its manufacturing capacity and move from batch production to large scale manufacture. A number of time consuming, multi-stage and expensive assemblies were identified. These assemblies were converted into plastic components that could be produced at a fraction of the unit cost and assembled in an order of magnitude quicker without sacrificing structural integrity.
